EMBRYO | 2008

The illuminated image of an embryo is located on the façade and eaves of the Na zábradlí Theatre. The Embryo was created by David Černý to mark the 50th anniversary of the Na zábradlí Theatre. It is illuminated at night and what you in it is only up to your imagination.

Did you know that...

After installation, the Embryo did not get adequate attention and the Directress of the Na Zábradlí Theatre acted. Together with other members of the theatre, she spread false news about how some of the members of the theatre crew are disquietened by the work and that it would be necessary to cover it. David Černý also joined in with a letter of apology. This was partially also a response to the case related to the Entropa work on exhibit in Brussels. The project was successful, the journalists took it up and the number of visitors to the work increased.
